With temperatures ranging between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius during summer and 15 to 30 degrees Celsius during winter, Xai Xai can be regarded as an all year round vacation experience and holiday destination. Our Mozambique accommodation is ideal for a perfect family holiday, and with all the fantastic fishing opportunities, it can also be considered as a fishing trip of a lifetime!
Besides walks on beautiful, deserted, undeveloped, long stretches of white beaches (and the warm ocean to dip into when the sand beneath your feet becomes too hot), Mozambique also offers the following attractions and activities:
- Relaxing at the beach
- Safe areas for swimming - there are a few nearby beaches to choose from
- Guided quad bike tours on 250cc Can Am quad bikes - offered by Reef Resort
- Deep sea fishing - charters available on 'African Dawn' - offered by Reef Resort
- Shore fishing
- Snorkelling along the protective reef (we have a limited amount of snorkelling gear for hire)
- Wenela Tidal Pool and Blowhole
- An outing to the local market is a must and this is also where you will be able to replenish your fruit and vegetable supplies
- Perfect photographic panoramas from any angle
- Dolphin and whale watching to be viewed from the comfort of your own balcony. Whale watching is only available during the winter months.
- A magnificent sunset to be observed, anywhere really, but the dunes are recommended for a relaxing sundowner with a local 2M or Laurentina beer to reflect at the end of a fun, sun filled day!
- Deep sea diving and ocean 'safaris' - sightseeing tours (offered by an independent company, based in Praia de Xai Xai)
- Bird watching
- Next-door is the Blue Dolphin Resort: they serve delicious, fresh seafood snacks, and they have Karaoke sing-alongs on certain nights.
